Christina Haack was conceived in Anaheim, California. Her first job after leaving school was working in the industry of real estate. Tarek El-Moussa, her future husband, was also in the business. Following the 2008 collapse of the stock market the real estate market was hit hard by investors and homeowners lost their funds. Tarek El Moussa & Christina El Moussa had a chance to be bankrupted by the crash in stocks of 2008. After moving from a house which cost them $6,000 per year, to a new apartment that cost $700, they almost lost all their possessions. The company slowly recovered as well as the economy. HGTV and Rise to Fame Tarek enlisted a buddy to help make an HGTV audition video in the year 2011. The tape showed Tarek as well as Christina teaming up in flipping the inside of a home. Pie Town Productions executives received the tape. The executives fell in love to Tarek, Christina and their stories. The agreement was made by the couple to HGTV. Then, in April of 2013, "Flip of Flop" premiered. Between 2013 and 2017, the show was a hit for 7 seasons. Christina and Tarek, who appeared in the series, bought properties, which were typically middle-income homes situated in Orange County. Tarek concentrates more on remodeling and demolishment, while Christina is in charge of design. The two also make sure that everything is to schedule.
